In 2008 Bernhard Koch started to represent film professionals working behind the camera as writers, directors, DoPs, production designers and costume designers. He manages all aspects of their professional life such as selection of projects, negotiation of deal terms, management of contracts, schedule coordination, project acquisition and career planning.
Bernhard Koch is a qualified lawyer with considerable experience in copyright and entertainment law. Following his state examination in 1992 he has worked in the legal department of ProSieben media group until 1995. From 1996 until 2000 he worked as talent agent and co-managing director for Above The Line Munich.
2001/2002 he was Head of National Prodction of Helkon Media AG. Together with Judith Erber he founded a production company to produce the ZDF/arte-coproduction “Breaking the Surface” (dir. Felicitas Korn). Alongside his production activities he worked as legal consultant for VCL Film + Medien AG from 2006 until 2008.
In September 2008 Bernhard Koch startet working for the Brandner Agency, which Kristina Brandner founded 1995 as the first agency in Germany that exclusively represented film talent behind the camera. In 2011 he became its sole owner. Since May 2022 he represents his clients under the name Bernhard Koch Management for Creative Film Professionals.
